When an introverted male student meets a sadistic freshman girl named Nagatoro, his life is turned upside down. She first quietly observes his reaction to verbal abuse from some other high-school girls that are not well-meaning, realizes that oddly enough in his case it may be exactly what he needs, and so begins a sequence of her teasing him. It soon becomes increasingly obvious (to the reader, not to him) that her teasing is actually sardonic, well-intentioned, and flirtatious, in between the bullying and teasing, something else begins to blossom. A lovey-dovey(…?) story between a shy nerd and an S-Dere (Sadistic Tsundere) begins.

Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro has been serialized through Magazine Pocket, published by Kodansha, since November 1, 2017.[2] The first volume of the manga was released as a print version through Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Comics imprint and as a digital version on March 9, 2018.[2] The second volume was released on June 8, 2018.[8] Nine volumes have been released as of February 2021. In addition to the standard edition, there is also a special edition containing works by several other artists

So far it is a cute, funny story. The main character is a artsy nerd who’s scared of his own shadow. A cute underclassman takes an interest in him, and displays it by harassing him constantly. It has been interesting to what their relationship progress.

It’s a fairly entertaining manga. I enjoy the character dynamics, and for what it’s worth, it’s a nice manga. You can just sit back and pop it open, and read about the misadventures of Nagatoro and Senpai. I particularly enjoyed the dynamic Senapi has with Nagatoro’s friends, as it often leads to hilarious plots for chapters. The art is nice, though I can never really get over the sketchy faces Nagatoro makes. (Hint: the author worked on a different kind of manga previously!). There is no real story, buts it’s nice to watch the love between Senpai and Nagatoro. Overall, and entertaining manga. It ain’t for everyone, but it’s great for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
